Meet the Team at SBMP Ventures

  • Mike Penny

    Mike Penny, Owner

Mike Penny has been involved in the construction trades most of his adult life. After spending 4 years in the power line business as a Lineman, Mike was feeling a bit unfulfilled in his career choice. Mike decided to pursue another career path and in 2002 he bought his first house to flip. In 2004 spurred by a booming housing market Mike left his job as a lineman to pursue real estate full time. Mike has been a full time real estate investor ever since.

Having gone through the 2008 recession with numerous properties and feeling the pain that a problem property can cause firsthand. Mike is adamant that helping people solve their specific problem is goal #1 regardless of if we purchase the property. Mike is well equipped to understand any real estate situation you are going through. Probate, foreclosure, income properties, downsizing, terrible tenants, land deals, and development we’ve seen and done it all.

  • Taylor Jacobs

Taylor Jacobs, Acquisition Manager / Agent

Taylor has been in the construction and renovation business now with 7+ years of related experience in real estate business. Prior to becoming an acquisitions manager with SBMP Ventures, Taylor did residential inspections for a private engineering company on big tract home developments during his time at CU. Then Taylor started working with SBMP’s renovations crew helping do a lot of the construction work on properties we purchased. Eventually Taylor got his real estate license and started working with a development brokerage where he worked to find off-market multifamily properties and development lots for his company to purchase and/or broker.

When Taylor isn’t talking real estate, you can find him playing softball on his team ‘Ambush’, listening to a new audio book, or watching basketball or football game making some bets.
